Much like your computer at home, the files you have on your website take up space. Just like the mp3 that takes up 5mb of space on your hardrive at home, the files for your website also take up space. To determine how much space you need, look at the total of all your webpage files and images and see how much room they take up. if you are unsure as to your amount the best course of action is to start with the smallest hosting package and upgrade as you need to. You can upgrade or downgrade your account as you need to so that your only paying for what you need.

The amount of disk space that you are allocated on a web server. Most web pages are less than 100 KB in size, mp3 songs are typically about 4MB and most email messages are smaller than 5 KB.
